Abbott donates $10,000 to ADA
NEW ORLEANS A $10,000 donation by Abbott Diabetes Care was awarded to the New Orleans chapter of the American Diabetes Association to promote local diabetes education and outreach efforts.
Currently 23.6 million people, or 7.8% of the U.S. population, have diabetes. Abbott is a leading company in diabetic care that manufactures and markets glucose monitoring systems designed to help people better manage their diabetes.
“We are thrilled with the continued support Abbott has shown to the healthcare issues facing our community,” said Jimmy Fahrenholtz, New Orleans community leadership board chair for the ADA. “This donation will help ensure that we can continue to fund regional education programs and health screenings that help improve the lives of those living with diabetes.”
The donation was presented to the ADA during its 69th Scientific Sessions at the Morial Convention Center in New Orleans.
