Armada partners with UMass med school to enhance specialty platform

8/4/2015

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. — Armada Health Care on Tuesday announced a partnership with the clinical pharmacy services unit at the University of Massachusetts Medical School to help improve and provide support for the specialty pharmacy group contractor’s ArmadaOne specialty pharmacy workflow platform.

The team at the medical school includes over 60 members, including clinical pharmacists, experts on infectious diseases and people with experience in managed care and direct patient care. The collaboration will help provide support regarding therapy interventions and clinical protocols for ArmadaOne, which works alongside dispensing systems to provide patient management and workflow solutions for specialty pharmacies. The system also documents clinical interventions and compliance monitoring.

“We look forward to working with the UMass team to enhance ArmadaOne's clinical interventions and patient outreach modules,” Armada CEO Lawrence Irene said.  “Their expertise and connectivity to infectious disease specialists, physicians, drug utilization review boards, practitioners and other stakeholders adds incredible value to the platform's functionality and clinical foundation.”
