Aurora Heath Care praises anti-smoking law
MILWAUKEE A new state law in Wisconsin that bans smoking in most public places has drawn praise from a local non-profit healthcare organization.
Aurora Health Care, which runs pharmacies in eastern Wisconsin, as well as hospitals and clinics, applauded the new law, which will take full effect by July 2010.
“I applaud governor Jim Doyle and the state legislature for supporting this measure because they are helping to improve the health of people throughout our state,” Aurora Health Care president and CEO Nick Turkal said. “Wisconsin needs to be smoke-free because tobacco smoke hurts everyone.”
