Aurora promotes pharmacists as a way to help patients save money
MILWAUKEE A regional retail pharmacy chain in Wisconsin is promoting pharmacists as a way to save money.
Aurora Pharmacy, part of the Aurora Health Care system, released an informational article Monday listing some of the ways it said pharmacists can help patients cut medication costs, such as the new Aurora Pharmacy Prescription Savings Club — a generic discount program that it launched last month — and the availability of pharmacists to assist patients.
“We always encourage people to ask questions,” Aurora pharmacist Stephanie Jackson said in the article. “If we can find a way to help them save money or find out more information about their medications, we’re happy to help.”
Jackson said pharmacists can also help patients determine whether there are generic versions of their medications, if they can safely split their pills or if drug companies offer discounts or rebates.
