Avella Specialty Pharmacy adds medical advisor

PHOENIX, Ariz. — Avella Specialty Pharmacy has added Dr. Joel V. Brill as a medical advisor, the organization announced Friday. Brill will bring more than 30 years of clinical and leadership experience, as well as expertise in value-based care and advanced payment models to the company.

Brill is board-certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine and is Predictive Health’s chief medical officer. He has formerly served as a medical director for several managed care organizations and has run independent practice organizations and physician-hospital organizations. Brill is also skilled in implementing value-driven health programs, the company said. 

 

At Avella, he will provide insight into developing its newest clinical programs and maintaining the evidence-based care practices within the company’s specialties. He will also serve as the “voice of the provider” as Avella enters new clinical specialties and looks to partner with health systems, hospitals, physicians and payers.
