Avera Health, Hy-Vee to offer kiosks, mobile clinic

SIOUX FALLS — Avera Health and Hy-Vee on Friday announced an expanded partnership to offer AveraNow convenience and wellness clinics and kiosks in four Hy-Vee Sioux Falls stores, in addition to a Healthy You Mobile vehicle.

Healthy You Mobile contains two exam rooms to provide health information and screenings. With Hy-Vee dietitians and pharmacists staffing the vehicle, it will also provide information about Avera Health Plans for people looking to purchase insurance.

“As we look ahead to the future of health care, access to convenient and affordable services will be more important than ever, as well as prevention,” Dr. David Basel, medical director of Avera Medical Group, said. “Avera is proud to be on the leading edge with new innovations, and we’re pleased to work with Hy-Vee to offer more access points for the population we care for.”

The AveraNow clinics will be staffed by healthcare professionals and will connect patients with a provider via a virtual visit, the company said. Kiosks are equipped with biometric and remote examination devices, such as an otoscope and blood pressure cuff to stream information to the provider.
