SEATTLE — Bartell Drugs announced Thursday that it is inviting donations of school supplies and hygiene products for its 12th annual “School Tools for Kids in Need,” from Aug. 2 through Aug. 29 at all 64 Bartell Drugs locations, the company said.
Approximately 58,000 local students could begin the school year without the basic school supplies, according to World Vision, a global charity.
Bartell’s donation drive will support students in 160 schools across three counties in Washington State.
“With so many area children lacking basic school supplies, there’s never been a more important time to support this endeavor,” Bartell Drugs chairman George D. Bartell said. “Over the past 11 years, we’ve appreciated the support by our customers and the public for their donations.”
All Bartell Drug locations will accept the following items, in addition to online monetary donations:
Pens and No. 2 pencils
Markers and crayons
Highlighters
Notebook paper
Spiral notebooks
Scissors
Toothbrushes
Hand soap
Shampoo
Feminine hygiene products
