Bashas’ undercuts Wal-Mart generic drug program by 1?

CHANDLER, Ariz. Arizona-based Bashas’ Supermarkets has announced that it will be offering over 300 prescription generic drugs for $3.99 each, a penny less expensive than the discount program available at Wal-Mart.

Among the drugs available will be medications for such ailments as allergies, asthma, high cholesterol, diabetes, gastrointestinal problems, glaucoma, skin conditions, thyroid conditions and viruses. “Our customers will save both time and money through this new offering,” said Dan Milovich, director of pharmacy operations, “which will help them to live better, healthier lives.”

The discount program will be available at more than 65 Bashas’ and Food City pharmacies throughout Arizona.
