Bausch & Lomb to open new pharmaceutical headquarters

7/17/2009

NEW YORK A drug maker specializing in eye health will open its new global pharmaceutical headquarters in New Jersey Monday.

Bausch & Lomb announced that it would open the headquarters in Madison, N.J., a town in the northern part of the state. The 30,000-sq.-ft. headquarters will have 70 employees, and the company has invited Gov. Jon Corzine to the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

“Establishing our global pharmaceutical headquarters in New Jersey opens up opportunities to partner with other pharmaceutical companies and to drive commercialization of new products,” Bausch & Lomb CEO Gerald Ostrov said in a statement. “Our recently announced co-promotion agreement with Pfizer for prescription ophthalmics in the U.S. is the first example of how we are successfully implementing this strategy.”
