Bausch & Lomb receives visit from N.J. governor
MADISON, N.J. New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine appeared Monday at the grand opening of Bausch & Lomb’s new global pharmaceutical headquarters, Bausch & Lomb announced.
The 30,000-sq.-ft., 70-employee facility adds to the state’s already large pharmaceutical industry. According to the Healthcare Institute of New Jersey, 15 of the world’s 25 largest drug companies have their global or North American headquarters there.
“Establishing our global pharmaceutical headquarters in New Jersey opens up opportunities to partner with other pharmaceutical companies and to drive commercialization of new products,” Bausch & Lomb CEO Gerald Ostrov said in a statement. “Our recently announced co-promotion agreement with Pfizer for prescription ophthalmics in the U.S. is the first example of how we are successfully implementing this strategy.”
