Big Y announces White new chief financial officer

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. Big Y Foods’ board of directors has tapped William D. White for the role of chief financial officer, the company has said. White will be leaving his position at Osschein Farm and Home of Moberly, Mo, where he was serving as vice president and chief financial officer.

The change to Big Y’s management comes after Herbert D. Dotterer’s retirement earlier this summer. The 58-store company said that White is an industry veteran with more than 30 years of experience in finance and real estate. White has also served as chief financial officer for Balls Food Stores, Farm Fresh Supermarkets, Richfood Holdings and Snyder’s Drug Stores, reports said.

White has also served as assistant controller for Affiliated Food Stores, director of financial accounting and real estate for King Soopers and division controller for McLane/Western.
