Boehringer Ingelheim names Ros EVP of sales, marketing

RIDGEFIELD, Conn. Boehringer Ingelheim on Monday announced the appointment of Albert Ros as EVP of sales and marketing for the company’s prescription medicines business. In his new role, Ros will lead the U.S. sales and marketing strategy of Boehringer Ingelheim’s core brands.

“We are pleased to have [Ros] in such an important leadership role,” said Martin Carroll, Boehringer Ingelheim president and CEO.

Ros has been with Boehringer Ingelheim for 14 years and previously served as head of Boehringer Ingelheim’s division for marketing of prescription medicines. In this position, Ros led the development of four global products including Spiriva, Flomax, Mirapex and Micardis.

Ros earned a pharmacy degree from the University of Barcelona, a master’s degree in business administration from ESADE Business School in Barcelona, and a post graduate degree in general management from IESE Business School in Barcelona. Ros and his wife and three sons will relocate to Ridgefield, Conn. in early 2009.
