Burmans independent pharmacy receives award from Philadelphia Business Journal, UnitedHealthcare
BROOKHAVEN, Pa. — Burmans, an independent community pharmacy, was announced as a winner of the Patient Safety Award at the annual Innovation Awards presented by Philadelphia Business Journal and UnitedHealthcare.
The Patient Safety Award recognized Burmans for its approach to patient safety. Burmans employs a coordinated care approach that ensures optimal access, management, safety and outcomes. Sustained close relationships with patients, providers, payers, drug manufacturers and advocacy organizations enable Burmans’ efforts to prevent gaps in care, the retailer stated.
“We are honored to be recognized for our efforts to provide exceptional healthcare services to the Greater Philadelphia community,” said Steve Burman, president and CEO, Burmans. “For 50 years, Burmans has been committed to the wellbeing of each and every one of our patients.”
Burmans Pharmacy is an independent community pharmacy whose pharmacists have nearly 300 years of collective experience addressing patients’ needs and offer additional services and resources such as compounding, face-to-face consultations, insurance experts and specialty pharmacy programs. Burmans Medical Supplies is a provider of home medical equipment that specializes in wound care and urological supplies.
Earlier this month, Burmans Pharmacy was voted as one of the “Best Pharmacies” in Delaware County, Pa., by readers of The Delaware County Daily Times.
