The California Pharmacy Hall of Fame announces its three new recipients

SACRAMENTO, Calif. Three people were given honors by the California Pharmacists Association for the California Pharmacy Hall of Fame. Of the three, announced at the Outlook 2008 Annual Meeting, Peter Kellison was the only non-pharmacist in the group.

The California Pharmacy Hall of Fame is an award given to outstanding pharmacists who possess qualities that include a long history of service, achievement in diverse arenas, character, innovation and trend setting, and are nominated by pharmacists statewide.

The 2008 CPhA Hall of Fame Honorees are:

Sylvester Flowers—received his education in Pharmacy at Howard University and graduated Magna Cum Laude. Through his long line of advocacy for health care, his most notable position in Pharmacy was that he founded the Ramsell Holding Corporation that incorporates his major goal in life which is to serve the less fortunate.

Glenn Yokoyama—has been active in State and National Associations for pharmacy and served as president for CPhA and the California Society of Health System Pharmacists. Glenn is also a member of the State Board Pharmacy where he advocated many issues for the profession of Pharmacy.

Peter Kellison—began as a lobbyist for Pharmacy with the California Pharmacists Association, and has become the voice for pharmacy in legislature. Peter has been rallying for pharmacy with policy makers for over 18 years.
