Construction begins on UNE pharmacy school

PORTLAND, Maine The University of New England’s College of Pharmacy began its construction of its new academic and research facility at UNE’s Westbrook College Campus in Portland, according to published reports.

The building is said to be approximately 48,000 square feet and to be completed by summer of 2009, and will include rooms for pharmacy practice, labs, and classrooms with a 10,000 square foot research floor, according to published reports.

The building is the first facility in Maine made for solely the field of Pharmacy, and received Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.
