CVS, NCOA extend senior health program
WOONSOCKET, R.I. CVS Caremark and the National Council on Aging have extended by three years their joint “Prescription for Better Health” program that has been underway since 2007.
The announcement was made Thursday at the Aging in America Conference in Washington, D.C. The program provides improved access to health education and senior benefits through the nationwide networks of more than 6,300 stores and NCOA’s Senior Center members and other affiliated community-based organizations.
Components of the program include medication management, educational resources, access to information on benefits programs through the NCOA BenefitsCheckUp tool and health screenings and flu vaccinations.
Going forward, a new component of the program will be joint CVS and NCOA research initiatives to yield new insights on seniors and medication trends.
