Dey Pharma updates EpiPen with new features
BASKING RIDGE, N.J. The Mylan subsidiary that manufactures a brand of antihistamine pens designed to counteract anaphylactic response has released an updated version.
Dey Pharma announced Monday the release of a new version of the EpiPen Auto-Injector (epinephrine) that includes such features as needle protection.
“We are very pleased to be launching Dey’s highly anticipated, next-generation, needle-protected EpiPen Auto-Injector,” Dey president Carolyn Myers said in a statement. “The objective of the product’s new features is to give those who carry an epinephrine auto injector some additional peace of mind when it comes to the risk of anaphylaxis.”
The new pens include an easy-to-grasp oval barrel with illustrated instructions, flip-top cases that allow for rapid removal and arrows and colors that identify the needle end of the device and reduce the risk of puncturing the thumb.
