Diabetes organization to host conference in Indiana
INDIANAPOLIS An organization that seeks to inform people with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes on taking an active role in their health announced Tuesday that it will have its conference in Indianapolis at the end of the month.
Taking Control of Your Diabetes, based in San Diego, will partner with the Indiana University School of Medicine to have its conference for people living with diabetes on May 30 at the Indiana Convention Center.
The conference will feature specialists from around the country, many of whom have diabetes, offering practical advice and discussing the latest developments in the treatment of diabetes, complications of the disease, psychological barriers to controlling diabetes, nutrition and other issues.
“It is my conviction that health care in this country will improve when the people living with diabetes themselves are informed and empowered to take an active role in their own condition,” TCOYD founder and director Steven Edelman said.
Early registration to the conference is $25 per person before May 27 and includes lunch, snacks and conference activities and materials. TCOYD also offers financial assistance.
