Dierbergs, Stater Bros. to offer $4 generics

ST. LOUIS and SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. Dierbergs Markets today has begun offering more than 350 generic drugs at a new cheaper price, according to published reports.

Dierbergs customers will be able to buy 30-day prescriptions for $4 and 90-day prescriptions for $10 from a list of commonly prescribed generic drugs that fall into more than a dozen categories including those for allergies, cold and flu, arthritis, cholesterol, diabetes, infection, heart health and blood pressure.

“In many cases, our customers will find their generic prescription costs to be less than their current insurance co-pays, including mail-order co-pays,” Greg Guenther, Dierbergs’ pharmacy director, said in a statement. “And for those without insurance, the savings are even greater.”

Another company also offering less expensive generic drugs to its customers is Stater Bros. Super Rx Pharmacies. The company, beginning tomorrow, will also offer $4 and $10 generic drugs for 30 and 90 days, respectively. The offer will be available at all 23 of its stores.
