Dr. Reddy's, Albermarle sign global distribution agreement

HYDERABAD, India Dr. Reddy’s has signed a global distribution agreement with the specialty chemicals company Albermarle for the active pharmaceutical ingredient ibuprofen, according to published reports.

According to the agreement, Albermarle will supply the drug from its plant in South Carolina to Dr. Reddy’s for distribution.

Ibuprofen is used for the management of pain, fever and inflammation. “Ibuprofen is used for the management of pain, fever, and inflammation and its market size is estimated at $2.24 billion globally,” the Indian drug maker said in a regulatory filing.
