Drake University program will work with Medicap to provide pharmacy internships

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa Drake University and its DELTA Rx Institute have chosen GRX Holdings’ to participate in their entrepreneurial leadership internship program that will launch this summer, GRX announced Tuesday.

GRX operates 15 Medicap Pharmacy stores in central Iowa.

The internship program partners participating pharmacies with Drake pharmacy students to help them develop entrepreneurial leadership skills. In addition to the 10-week, full-time internships, the students will participate in training programs, online discussions, conference calls, special projects and student presentations.

Support for the project comes in part from grants given by the National Association of Chain Drug Stores Foundation, Pharmacists Mutual and the McKesson Corp.
