Drug Fair launches discount generic Rx program

12/22/2008

SOMERSET, N.J. Drug Fair, which operates 59 pharmacies and general merchandise stores in northern and central New Jersey, is rolling out a discount generic drug program.

The program, known as the Drug Fair Prescription Savings Club and administered by HealthTrans Access, will give members 90-day supplies of more than 350 generic drugs for $9.99 and “significant” discounts on more than 5,000 brand name and generic drugs, including insulin. The annual enrollment fee is $5 per person.

To enroll, patients—both those uninsured and those with insurance who need drugs not covered by their health benefits—can visit any Drug Fair location where the pharmacist will help them enroll or they can enroll online at www.drugfair.com.

“We believe the addition of the Drug Fair Prescription Savings Club to our customer-centered services is both timely and beneficial. With the savings club, our customers who have no insurance or have experienced a cut back in benefits will be able to obtain their required medications,” said Tim LaBeau, president and CEO of Drug Fair Group.
