9/22/2010

CINCINNATI A company that makes equipment for pharmacy drive-through lanes has a new energy-efficient product.

E.F. Bavis announced the launch of the Bavis Solar Captive Carrier TransTrax conveyor delivery system. The new system is a solar version of the original TransTrax, designed to replace pneumatic tube systems. According to comparative estimates, E.F. Bavis said, pneumatic tube systems annually produce nearly 3,000 lbs. of carbon dioxide.

The company said the new system can save around $6,000 over a 10-year period compared with a typical pneumatic tube system, requires very little maintenance and is made almost entirely from recyclable components. The system also is connected to a battery that can hold reserve power for cloudy days and a backup charger.
