Eli Lilly welcomes Hoover to board of directors

INDIANAPOLIS Eli Lilly and Co. announced Tuesday that R. David Hoover has been elected to its board of directors.

Hoover, 63, currently serves as chairman, president and CEO of Ball Corp., supplier of metal and plastic packaging to primarily food and beverages. His board membership began Monday and duties will include audit and compensation committees.

Hoover will stand for reelection at Lilly's annual meeting in 2010.
