EPN extends PrescribeWellness contract, adds PrescribeMedicare

9/20/2016

IRVINE, Calif. — Cloud-based pharmacy services company PrescribeWellness on Tuesday announced a multi-year extension of its contract with EPIC Pharmacy Network (EPN), a pharmacy services administrative organization (PSAO) with more than 1,800 member pharmacies in the United States.

“We are excited to extend our successful partnership with PrescribeWellness and look forward to offering this comprehensive solution to our member pharmacies for years to come,” EPN president Jay Romero said. “EPN is focused on being the highest performing network in the industry and PrescribeWellness is helping achieve that distinction.”

Alongside the contract extension, EPN has contracted PrescribeMedicare, which evaluates Medicare plans for eligible seniors — for its members from now until September 2017, and the two will collaborate to train members. PrescribeMedicare takes information on patients’ medication and evaluates the costs on different Medicare plans, providing a comparison that allows patients to understand their options, the company said.

“We are proud to assist the EPIC Pharmacy Network in improving Star Ratings and other quality metrics,” PrescribeWellness president and CEO Al Babbington said. “Networks like EPN that are focused on quality and outcomes, are the future of pharmacy. Our team is dedicated to improving patient health across America and our continued partnership with EPN will allow us to continue that great work.”
