ATLANTA — Acella Pharmaceuticals announced Friday that it had recently secured approval for a sugar-free bioequivalent of Bromfed DM cough syrup (brompheniramine maleate, pseudoephedrine hydrochloride, and dextromethorphan hydrobromide syrup, 2mg/30mg/10mg per 5mL). The drug is indicated to temporarily relieve cold, flu, allergy or other breathing illness symptoms.
"Having a sugar-free, bioequivalent to Bromfed DM cough syrup supports our strategy of providing pharmaceutical drugs to all of our customers," Acella SVP clinical and regulatory affairs and head of research and development Allen Fields said. "We are excited about our other, affordable products currently under review with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, in fulfillment of our mission to patients and managed care."
