FDA approves generic for treament of emesis
ROCKVILLE, Md. The Food and Drug Administration has approved a generic drug for treating the nausea and vomiting associated with chemotherapy known as emesis.
According to FDA records, the agency approved Dr. Reddy’s Labs’ granisetron hydrochloride tablets in the 1 mg strength on Feb. 27.
The tablets are a generic version of Roche’s Kytril tablets, which had sales of $89 million for the 12 months ending Sept. 30, 2007, according to IMS Health data.
