FDA approves Ranbaxy's application to produce generic Ceftin
MUMBAI, India Ranbaxy Laboratories has received approval from the Food and Drug Administration to produce and market the antibiotic cefuroxime axetil in an oral suspension form.
The drug is a generic version of GlaxoSmithKline’s Ceftin, which is used to treat mild to moderate infections in children.
According to Ranbaxy, the drug had annual sales of $28.7 million.
