FDA approves Roxane's generic Kyrtil

COLUMBUS, Ohio The Food and Drug Administration has approved Roxane Laboratories’ application for generic Kytril 1 mg. The drug, granisetron hydrochloride, will be available in unit dose blister packs and will be launched immediately.

Kytril is used to prevent nausea and vomiting associated with initial and repeated courses of chemotherapy as well as radiation.

Roche Laboratories’ Kytril had annual sales of about $88 million for the 12 months that ended October 2007, according to IMS sales data.
