FDA approves Sandoz generic
ROCKVILLE, Md. The Food and Drug Administration has approved a generic version of a drug by Pharmacia and Upjohn, agency records show.
The FDA approved Sandoz methylprednisolone acetate injection in the 40 mg-per-milliliter and 80 mg-per-milliliter strengths, a generic version of Depo-Medrol. The drug is used to treat inflammatory diseases.
Pharmacia and Upjohn is now a part of Pfizer. Depo-Medrol originally received approval in 1959.
