SILVER SPRING, Md. — The Food and Drug Administration has issued a new guide for parents about vaccinating their children. The online guide includes information about the benefits and risks of vaccination, the types of vaccines children routinely receive as well as a section with questions that parents are asking about vaccination.
"Parents should know that vaccines protect children from many serious illnesses from infectious diseases,” said Marion Gruber, director of the FDA’s Office of Vaccines Research and Review. “The risk of being harmed by vaccines is much smaller than the risk of serious illness from infectious diseases.”
