Gemayel appointed ceo of Altus
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. Altus Pharmaceuticals announced Thursday that it appointed Georges Gemayel as its chief executive officer and a member of its board of directors. He will begin his duties June 2.
Gemayel previously served as executive vice president of Genzyme, which he joined in 2003. There, he headed the therapeutics, transplant, renal and biosurgery businesses and served as a corporate officer. Prior to Genzyme, he spent 16 years at Hoffman-LaRoche, working in oncology, transplantation, hepatitis, HIV and dermatology, as well as working as general manager of Hoffman-LaRoche Portugal.
Gemayel has a doctorate in pharmacy from St. Joseph University in Beirut, Lebanon, and a doctorate in pharmacology from Paris-Sud University.
