GNP, PrescribeWellness partnership delivers prescription for better performance

8/18/2015

IRVINE, Calif. —  Initially announced at ThoughtSpot 2015 earlier this month,  AmerisourceBergen and its affiliated Good Neighbor Pharmacy have selected PrescribeWellness to deliver and maintain their pharmacy-facing Patient Engagement Center, which is a key component of their newly launched AmerisourceBergen Elevate Provider Network premier-level offering.

“We are excited about our new relationship with PrescribeWellness and pleased to include their solutions in our premier-level offering to AmerisourceBergen Elevate Provider Network members,” Chuck Reed, group VP pharmacy technology and solutions for AmerisourceBergen, said. “We believe this innovative tool can play an important role in supporting pharmacists as they strive to improve patient engagement, adherence and Star Ratings.”

“The Patient Engagement Center becomes the single platform that the AmerisourceBergen Elevate Provider Network leadership team can use to continuously inform their members and launch their most important strategic initiatives,” added Tony Thuyen, chief strategy officer and co-founder of PrescribeWellness.

PrescribeWellness offers innovative technological solutions designed to elevate the community pharmacist’s role in providing coordinated care and preventative healthcare services. Their software makes it easier for pharmacies to improve patient adherence, build customer loyalty and provide extended services via the appointment-based model. PrescribeWellness solutions have been proven to improve a patient’s adherence to their medication and the pharmacy’s ratings in various performance measures.

“Our mission is to inspire collaboration for better health in all Americans and we’re pleased to collaborate with AmerisourceBergen, Good Neighbor Pharmacy and Elevate Provider Network members to help them make their communities healthier,” added Al Babbington, CEO and co-founder of PrescribeWellness. “Together, we are going to help their network members to improve customer loyalty, increase patient adherence and advance the role of community pharmacists.”

The recently announced Elevate Provider Network — the new name for its Pharmacy Services Administrative Organization — will support independent pharmacies in their efforts to enhance patient care and to improve profitability through better business practices and by leveraging centralized and patient adherence data to optimize reimbursement with payers.

There were many expanded new service offerings that debuted at ThoughtSpot 2015. Drug Store News editor-in-chief Rob Eder shared the highlights from the conference in a recent edition of DSNTV.
