Harris Teeter to open first in-store clinic

CHARLOTTE, N.C. Grocery chain Harris Teeter is expected to open an in-store health clinic in the Matthews Festival Shopping Center.

According to local news reports, Harris Teeter has teamed up with Carolinas Medical Center-University to open the clinic called CMC-Express. The 260-square-foot facility is expected to open in October.

According to reports, Harris Teeter, which operates 160 supermarkets, will consider expanding the clinic concept to other stores if it proves successful.

As with similar in-store health clinics, the facility will be staffed by nurse practitioners who will diagnosis and treat minor illness, as well as provide vaccinations.
