Hikal inks manufacturing deal with Pfizer

MUMBAI, India Hikal and Pfizer have signed a long-term deal under which Hikal will manufacture and supply Pfizer with active pharmaceutical ingredients, according to published reports.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Hikal will make the drugs at its Food and Drug Administration-approved drug unit in Bangalore.

“We are pleased to be selected as a long-term contract manufacturer by Pfizer. The agreement will have a substantial impact on our pharmaceutical business in the coming years,” Jai Hiremath, vice-chairman and managing director of Hikal, said.
