Hy-Vee offers 90-day prescriptions for $10

DES MOINES, Iowa Hy-Vee announced Monday that it would immediately begin offering a 90-day supply of select generic drugs for $10 at its supermarket pharmacies and drug stores.

“As healthcare costs continue to rise, we want to do everything we can to improve access to medications of our customers,” said Bob Egeland, Hy-Vee’s vice president of pharmacy. “Better access not only ensures medication compliance and better overall health care; it reinforces the platform for our pharmacists to optimize patient use of medication through education and counseling.”

Several supermarket and big-box chains offer similar programs, including Wal-Mart, Meijer and Kroger.
