Longs teams with Microsoft HealthVault

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. Longs Drug has entered an agreement with Microsoft to connect with Microsoft HealthVault, an online platform for sharing information with patients and providers.

Starting this fall, Longs customers will be able to use HealthVault to store prescription information in a secure environment where it can be accessed only by the patient and their physicians. The site also will provide information on improving diet and fitness.

“Providing access to electronic records and teaming with organizations like Microsoft serves to empower our patients and, we hope, improve their overall health,” said Longs senior vice president Mike Laddon.
