Mass. DA seeks information from Wyeth concerning Protonix
NEW YORK The district attorney’s office in Massachusetts has subpoenaed Wyeth, seeking information and testimony before a grand jury concerning marketing practices and pricing for Protonix, Wyeth’s proton-pump inhibitor for heartburn.
Wyeth has said it is cooperating with the investigation.
Two companies, Teva and Sun Pharmaceutical, launched generic versions of Protonix earlier this year. Sales of the brand-name drug, known generically as pantoprazole sodium, were $1.9 billion in 2007, according to Wyeth financial reports.
