Mission Pharmacal releases authorized generic of Tindamax
SAN ANTONIO A generic drug maker announced Tuesday that it released a version of the only drug approved by the Food and Drug Administration for treating the most common sexually transmitted disease in young, sexually active women.
BioComp Pharma said its drug, tinidazole, comparable to Mission Pharmacal’s Tindamax, treats bacterial vaginosis and trichomoniasis.
Trich infects 7.4 million men and women every year, while BV infects almost one-third of women and is the most common vaginal infection in women of childbearing age.
The drug is available in 500 mg tablets. BioComp is a wholly owned subsidiary of Mission Pharmacal.
