Mylan receives approval for generic Plendil ER

PITTSBURGH Mylan has received approval from the Food and Drug Administration for its application for a generic version of AstraZeneca’s blood pressure drug Plendil ER.

The drug, felodipine extended-release tablets will be available in 2.5, 5 and 10 mg strengths.

According to IMS, Plendil ER has sales in the U.S. of about $251 million in 2007.
