NACDS announces election results at annual meeting
PALM BEACH, Fla. The National Association of Chain Drug Stores this past weekend held elections for a couple of positions on its board. The elections took place at the group’s annual meeting.
Longs Drug Stored president and chief executive officer Warren Bryant was elected as chairman of the board for the 2008-2009 term; Andrew Giancamilli, chief executive officer of Synders Drug Stores was elected vice chairman; and president of CVS/Pharmacy, retail, Larry Merlo was elected treasurer.
“I am confident Warren Bryant will keep this Association pointed in the right direction with a clear vision of the role it needs to play for its members and for the health of this nation,” said NACDS past chairman David Bernauer, retired chairman and chief executive officer of Walgreens.
Also, two new members of the board were elected today during the annual Chain Member Meeting. Gregory Wasson, president and chief executive officer, Walgreens and John Lederer, chairman and chief executive officer, Duane Reade were elected to serve three-year terms.
