NACDS Foundation names new president

6/30/2009

ALEXANDRIA, Va. A pharmacist with 25 years of experience in the pharmacy profession and pharmaceutical industry will lead the National Association of Chain Drug Stores’ philanthropic arm.

The NACDS Foundation announced Tuesday the election of Edith Rosato as president, succeeding the recently retired Philip Schneider. As president, Rosato, who also is SVP pharmacy affairs for the NACDS, will oversee and execute staff responsibilities for NACDS Foundation initiatives, including pharmacy student scholarships and research related to pharmacy and patient care.

“I know of nobody who cares more about the role of pharmacy in patient care than Edith,” NACDS president and CEO Steven Anderson stated. “Her expertise, experience and relationships in pharmacy and among its suppliers will equip her well to lead the staff operations of the NACDS Foundation.”

Rosato, who graduated from the Institute for Organizational Management last week, joined the NACDS in 2000, having served in senior positions at what was then Wyeth-Ayerst Pharmaceuticals’ managed markets division and at CVS Caremark.
