NACDS, HDMA announce IBM as keynote sponsor of RFID and tracking technology summit

ALEXANDRIA, Va. The National Association of Chain Drug Stores and the Healthcare Distribution Management Association have announced that IBM will serve as the Keystone Sponsor of RFID/Track and Trace Health Care Industry Adoption Summit.

At the opening session of the weekend-long event, which focuses on how RFID and Track and Trace technologies can help create a more secure pharmaceutical supply chain and enhance business processes, Paul Chang of IBM will deliver a keynote speech entitled “The Future of the Connected World.” Other prominent speakers on Monday include Giny Herold and Judy Nurse of the California Board of Pharmacy.

The Tuesday, Nov. 13, speakers will include David Bernauer, NACDS chairman of the Board and retired chairman of Walgreen Co., and Dr. Sanjay Sarma of Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

The event, which will feature approximately 500 attendees, offers nearly 20 education sessions on a variety of topics and pilots that are relevant to pharmaceutical executives–regardless of their experience with the technologies. It also includes an exhibit hall of RFID and Track and Trace product and service suppliers.
