NCPA names federal, state government affairs VP

9/5/2018
The National Community Pharmacists Association recently announced that Anne Cassity has joined NCPA as vice president, federal and state government affairs.

Cassity formerly managed NCPA's federal advocacy program. She left NCPA in 2011 to serve as health care policy advisor to then-governor Bobby Jindal of Louisiana. Most recently, she served as government relations director for Centene, a managed care organization, in Louisiana.

"We're delighted to have Anne rejoin our NCPA team," said NCPA CEO Dough Hoey. "She brings a wealth of federal and state government affairs experience, including strong relationships and deep knowledge of the prescription drug supply chain, that will help us enhance our legislative influence and effectiveness on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., and in state capitals across the nation."

NCPA also announced a realignment in roles at its Advocacy Center. Scott Brunner will oversee communications, grassroots, and external affairs as senior vice president, communications and external affairs. Ronna Hauser, PharmD, will continue to oversee NCPA's federal policy and regulatory affairs efforts. Her title is vice president, pharmacy policy and regulatory affairs. Brunner, Cassity, and Hauser will report to Karry La Violette, senior vice president, government affairs, and director of the NCPA Advocacy Center.
