NCSL summit offers legislators a look at importance of pharmacists

ALEXANDRIA, Va. State legislators can receive demonstrations of the patient care that pharmacists perform every day when they converge on New Orleans for the National Conference of State Legislatures 2008 Legislative Summit.

The Alliance for Pharmaceutical Care—whose membership includes, among others, the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy, the American Pharmaceutical Association, the National Association of Chain Drug Stores and the National Community Pharmacists Association—will offer the screenings at its Pharmacist Central exhibit. Pharmacists will perform health screenings and patient counseling about blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes, bone density, body-fat analysis, respiratory screening and heartburn, as well as providing reviews of medications.

The exhibit will be at booth 528 at the Ernest N. Moral Convention Center July 23-25.
