New programs in California pharmacy schools take initiative to promote diversity
WASHINGTON Two pharmacy schools in California have recently hired new faculty to promote cultural diversity in the field of pharmacy.
According to published reports, both the University of Southern California School of Pharmacy and the University of California have launched diversity programs to increase the number of ethnic students and staff in the classroom.
In the USC School of Pharmacy, the Dean’s Initiative to Diversity program has created a new position naming Walter Cathey as the dean’s special assistant for diversity. In UCSF Dahron Youmans was named its first associate dean for diversity.
