New Spark Health app links pharmacist to patient

7/21/2015

EVANS, Ga. — Creative Pharmacist on Tuesday unveiled the new Spark Health app, which provides community pharmacists weekly updates from their patients regarding lifestyle modifications and potential side effects of medications, among other notifications.

The fact that the patient’s data is sent directly to their community pharmacist helps set this app apart from other health tracking apps, the company stated.

“With the Spark Health platform, as well as the new Spark Health app, pharmacists can assist patients living with chronic disease by providing the information, encouragement and accountability it takes to achieve their health goals," stated David Pope, chief of innovation at Creative Pharmacist. "Using this resource, pharmacists can now go beyond adherence by combining it with clinical endpoints, such as blood pressure.”

Patients who communicate with their pharmacists receive targeted intervention via the app, including notifications of upcoming disease-specific educational classes. Additional features include the Meal Mixer, where patients can build hundreds of healthy meals, and the Exercise Mixer, where patients can utilize video-based exercise routines.
