Perrigo launches generic skin-care foam
ALLEGAN, Mich. Perrigo has launched its new drug, Clobetasol propionate foam, a generic version of Connectics’ Olux foam, according to published reports.
Clobetasol propionate foam is a topical corticosteroid indicated for the treatments of moderate to sever dermatosis of the scalp.
Perrigo launched the drug after the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey lifted temporary restraints that prevented the company from launching a generic. Perrigo now has 180-day exclusivity for the generic.
According to Wolters Kluwer, sales of the drug in 2007 were $85 million.
