Perrigo launches generic Transderm Scop

DUBLIN — Perrigo and Aveva Drug Delivery Systems have announced the introduction of their generic of Transderm Scop (scopolamine, 1.5 mg) patch. The patch is indicated to prevent nausea and vomiting associated with motion sickness, as well as recovery from anesthesia after surgery.

“I would like to thank the R&D and regulatory teams for their efforts to bring this difficult to manufacture product to market,” Perrigo EVP and president Rx pharmaceuticals John Wesolowski said. “This launch is another example of our ability to deliver complex generic products to patients at more affordable prices.”

The patch had U.S. sales of approximately $158 million for the 12 months ended May 2017.
