Pfizer site provides consumers with drug safety information

NEW YORK Pfizer has launched a Web site to provide safety information on its medications, the New York-based drug maker announced Monday.

The site, located at www.Pfizer.com/medicinesafety, contains interactive features on the drug-development process and how drug makers measure safety in drug development. It also has educational videos in which hosts introduce medication safety and explain how to understand risks.

“We want to increase understanding of the industry’s system for ensuring medicine safety,” Pfizer chief medical officer Joseph Feczko said. “Currently, information about drug safety is available through numerous, but fragmented channels, which can be challenging for healthcare professionals and patients as they discuss the risks and benefits of various treatments.”
